About The Department
The Department of Life Sciences, Akal University, Talwandi Sabo is newly established Department in 2022 offers UG programme namely B.Sc. Medical which includes a multidisciplinary and research-based curriculum. Students are learning from basic aspects of Botany, Zoology and Chemistry up to the advanced level. The Department has well-equipped subject-specific labs, well qualified Staff, and innovative classroom teaching. The Department of Life Sciences also prepares students for various central and state-level competitive exams in the field, ensuring they are well-equipped to pursue their professional aspirations. The Department of Life Sciences gives hands-on experience through workshops, short term internships and project work.

Objectives
- To show a systematic, extensive, coherent knowledge and critical understanding of the established theories, principles and concepts of a number of advanced and emerging issues in the field of Botany, Zoology and Chemistry.
- To produce professionals in the field of plant, animal sciences and chemical sciences.
- To suggest practical solutions to the problems of daily life by accurately designing and conducting an experiment after systematically collecting data.
Scope
- Graduates can pursue higher studies and careers in the allied subjects of Botany, Zoology and Chemistry.
- Graduates can become scientific research officers in industries related to life sciences and chemical sciences in both public and private sectors for they have skills to devise, formulate and resolve different scientific problems.
