About The Department

The Department of Economics (DoE) at Akal University (AU) is rapidly emerging as a center for excellence in economic studies, offering students a comprehensive understanding of economic principles, theories, and their practical applications. With a dynamic curriculum covering key fields such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, environmental economics, Mathematical economics and developmental economics, the department equips students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. It is committed to shaping critical thinkers capable of analyzing, interpreting, and forecasting economic trends and policies. Duration 4 years (Semester System)
Eligibility
  • 10+2 with 60% marks
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Persons with Disability (PWD) category (provided they produce a medical certificate of at least 40% physical disability) shall be allowed relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate percentage.

Duration 2 years (Semester System)
Eligibility
  • B.A. with at least 60% marks in aggregate with economics as one of the regular subjects in graduation.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST and Persons with Disability (PWD) category (provided they produce a medical certificate of at least 40% physical disability) shall be allowed relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate percentage.
