The Kalgidhar Society

Akal University
Established under the Punjab Government Act No. 25 (2015) and approved under the Section 2(f) of UGC Act (1956) is empowered to confer degrees across a wide range of disciplines. Department of Physics
The Department of Physics is established with a vision to provide world-class Physics education to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Currently, the department offers a two-year M.Sc., a three-year B.Sc. and four year B.Sc (Hons.) degree in Physics, along with Ph.D. programmes in various research areas of Experimental and Theoretical Physics, including Condensed Matter Physics, High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics, Atmospheric Physics, and Quantum Optics. In line with the latest academic standards, the National Education Policy (NEP) has been effectively implemented at both the UG and PG levels, ensuring a flexible and holistic curriculum. The department boasts an impressive track record of student progression, with alumni securing admission for higher education at prestigious global institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the University of Padua, Simon Fraser University, and many other reputed universities.
